About This Calculation
Energy Balance Architecture
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) is comprised of four primary components: Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR, ~60–70%), the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF, ~8–10%), Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (NEAT, ~15%), and Exercise Activity Thermogenesis (EAT, ~5–15%). Mifflin-St Jeor is widely recognized as the most reliable standard equation for BMR estimation in healthy adults.
